Our own Kristen Weise, plant manager for Power Tools and Lifting in Kent, Washington, was recently interviewed by Women in Manufacturing. Women in Manufacturing is a national trade association that supports women in the manufacturing industry and currently represents nearly 1,000 manufacturing companies.
Kristen is an “intrapreneur,” someone who innovates within their organization. Intrapreneurs, who are self-motivated, proactive, and action-oriented, turn their ideas into profitable business opportunities for their organizations.
As she told Women in Manufacturing, at IR, Kristen has the opportunity to be truly creative and think outside the box, which leads to new ideas and improvements in our processes, technologies and customer services and solutions.
When asked about the future, Kristen says she feels positive about the culture that’s being built at Kent and across Ingersoll Rand. For instance, IR’s recent employee equity award grant vests employees in the company. This supports a company-wide mindset of thinking and acting like an owner, which, in turn, helps IR teams be even more innovative.
We couldn't be more excited about Kristen's leadership and the continuous improvements she and her team will roll out from Kent. Watch this space for Kristen’s full talent profile here next week.
