As part of our commitment to Lead Sustainably, we have set environmental goals that are focused on improvements in water, air and land quality. One of our key sustainability goals is to realize net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and implement 100% renewable energy by 2050.
With a mission to make life better for generations to come, our team in Lonate Pozzolo, Italy, launched a new solar energy system. This solar system provides a renewable source of power with a low environmental impact, bringing us one step closer to reaching our environmental goals.
The new system is now up and running at the plant and includes a 257kw photovoltaic system to support current and future business and consumption.
With this installation, 58% of the Lonate Pozzolo plant’s annual energy needs will now be met through solar energy, reducing the facility’s CO2 emissions by 120t per year. In addition, the plant has installed two electric car charging stations and plans to replace traditional lighting fixtures with LED lamps, which will further reduce the plant’s annual CO2 emissions by 30t, resulting in a total savings of 150t of CO2 emissions annually.
All of Ingersoll Rand’s plants in Italy are now active with photovoltaics.
