For the past three years, Ingersoll Rand’s MD-Kinney* team has been actively supporting the Boys and Girls Club in Springfield, Missouri, to Make Life Better. Recently, Plant Manager Michael Sirmon and Vacuum Value Stream Manager LeRoy Clubine went to the Stalnaker Boys and Girls Club unit to read some books that Michael and his wife Tammy have written over the years.
“The 6- and 7-year-old club members were so excited to meet Michael, a real author, and hear ‘The Adventures of Miss Penelope Whipple Dimple,’ a small yet larger-than-life red fox,” said LeRoy.
“Jeffrey Long, the director of Boys and Girls Club in Springfield, says he really appreciates the partnership they have found in MD-Kinney,” said Michael. “We appreciate that they not only say they want to partner with us, but they back it up with action. We appreciate their mission and are proud to partner with them for the good of boys and girls in our community.”
Past events include MD-Kinney employees collecting school supplies, planting trees at their facilities, raising money for Christmas gifts, purchasing and distributing 220 pumpkins for Halloween, serving 720 Thanksgiving meals to families at all five club locations, decorating Valentine’s Day cards, and cleaning and painting the facilities! MD-Kinney also hosted an Engineering Day event for all of the Boys and Girls Club campuses and provided leadership training for club employees. As for future events, the employees has already begun working on Halloween pumpkin drive this year; they hope to increase their donation from 220 last year, which was one per family, to 500-600, allowing for one per child!
