At Ingersoll Rand, our commitment to Lead Sustainably drives us to continue to improve our operations, products and services on our mission to Make Life Better.
Our team in Fogliano, Italy, saw an opportunity to make the plant’s production more sustainable by using solar energy, a renewable source of power with a low environmental impact that enables us to mitigate climate change and protect our communities, employees and planet.
The new solar system is now up and running and includes a 250k power photovoltaic system and a medium voltage cabin connection.
With this installation, 58% of the plant’s annual energy needs will now be met through solar energy, reducing the greenhouse gas emissions and water usage of the plant – a huge step toward our sustainability goals. In addition, the plant has also implemented remote heating and boiler control systems for temperature optimization, office windows with reflective films and thermo-insulated heating and cooling pipe systems to reduce energy usage and create a more sustainable future.
