Herbert L. Henkel Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Herbert L. Henkel was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited in May 2000. Also, he retains his previous titles of president and chief executive officer of the company.
Henkel came to Ingersoll Rand in April 1999 from Textron, Inc. where he was president and chief operating officer. Previously, he was president of Textron’s Industrial Products segment. Before that, he was group vice president with responsibility for Textron’s industrial segment. From 1987 to 1993, he was president of Greenlee Textron, a maker of tools for wire and cable installation and maintenance.
Before joining Textron, Henkel was president and chief operating officer of Southern Fastening Systems and Unifast Industries, Inc. He had previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company and Hilti, Inc. Henkel holds a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and applied mechanics and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic University. Also, he holds a master’s degree in business administration and an honorary doctorate degree in commercial science from Pace University.
He is a director of C. R. Bard Inc. and 3M Company.

Marcia J. Avedon Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications
Marcia J. Avedon joined Ingersoll Rand in February 2007 as senior vice president, human resources and communications. She also was elected an officer of the company.
Marcia came to Ingersoll Rand from Merck & Co. where she had company-wide responsibilities for all human resource strategies, programs and policies globally. She served in that role from 2003 – 2006 and prior to that she was vice president, talent management and organization effectiveness for Merck.
Over seven years Marcia held a variety of HR and Communications leadership positions with Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal) including vice president, corporate human resources, vice president, human resources and communications for the Performance Polymers & Chemicals business group and director, organization and leadership development for the Engineered Materials sector. Marcia also served as a board member for Lincoln National Corporation and the board president for a non-profit agency, Jersey Battered Women's Services.
Marcia also held corporate and division human resources and organization development roles with Anheuser-Busch Companies from. She began her career with Booz-Allen & Hamilton, spending six years as a management consultant specializing in human capital and organizational development practices.
Marcia holds an M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from George Washington University, as well as a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. She also serves on the advisory boards for Cornell University's Center for Advanced Human Resources Studies and Rutgers' Executive Master in Human Resources Leadership program

James R. Bolch Senior Vice President and President Industrial Technologies Sector
James R. Bolch joined Ingersoll Rand in October 2005, as president of the Industrial Technologies Sector and was elected senior vice president of the company.
Jim joined Ingersoll Rand from Schindler Elevator Corporation, where as Executive Vice President of the Service Business, he led the North American services functions, including sales, marketing and service delivery, and achieved record revenue and profits, improved customer retention and instituted major process improvements.
Jim spent 21 years with United Technologies Corporation starting in engineering with United Technologies Optical Systems and then moving to Otis Elevator Company. At Otis, he held positions of increasing responsibility in operations, services and product administration, progressing to Vice President, Otis Global Service, a $3 billion business that serviced more than 1 million elevators globally.
In his last role, Jim was Vice President, Operations, for the UTC Power Division where he created and implemented the business strategy to commercialize fuel cell production for distributed generation and transportation markets.
Jim holds Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University and the University of Florida, respectively. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

William B. Gauld Senior Vice President, Enterprise Services
William ("Bill") B. Gauld was elected senior vice president, enterprise services, and an officer of the company in September 2006.
Bill is responsible for functions that provide critical capabilities and support to the enterprise, including global shared services, supply chain management, enterprise sales and marketing, the company’s engineering center in India, information technology, business operating system and global consulting.
Bill began his career in manufacturing with General Electric, moving through diverse operations functions that culminated with a position as chief information officer for GE’s Electrical Distribution and Controls business.
In 1994, Bill joined Textron Incorporated as vice president and chief information officer, leading the company’s information management, corporate sourcing and shared services operations. After five years with Textron, he joined Sony Electronic as chief information officer and executive vice president of logistics.
In 2001, Gauld joined Pearson plc as chief information officer, with responsibility for business services and global sourcing, and served as a member of the senior management committee.
Gauld holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Purdue University and a master of business administration degree in operations management from Indiana University Graduate Business School.

Steven B. Hochhauser Senior Vice President and President, Security Technologies Sector
Steven B. Hochhauser joined Ingersoll Rand in June 2008 as president of its Security Technologies Sector, a $3 billion business that makes homes and business environments safe, secure and productive. He was elected senior vice president of the company in August 2008. Steve most recently was chairman, president and chief executive officer of Johns Manville, a global manufacturer and marketer of premium engineered materials and building products. Prior to that, Steve held leadership positions within Allied Signal/Honeywell as vice president and general manager of Engineered Applications and Solutions; president and general manager of Laminates Systems; and president and general manager of the Allied Signal Oak-Mitsui joint venture. Earlier in his career, Steve held management positions with United Technologies and Rockwell International.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York in Binghamton.

David Kuhl Vice President and Treasurer
David Kuhl assumed the role of vice president and treasurer of Ingersoll Rand in June 2008. Kuhl held the same position at Trane which he joined in 2002 as an assistant treasurer after serving as chief financial officer of DuPont's Nutrition & Health business unit.
Prior to joining Trane/American Standard, he worked for DuPont as chief financial officer of the Nutrition & Health business unit. Previously, he spent 12 years at ExxonMobil where he held several domestic and international treasury management positions, including project executive for international treasury management, manager of Far East, Middle East & Africa treasurers, and treasurer for Esso Benelux. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a senior accountant in auditing.
David has a B.A. in chemistry from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Larry Kurland Vice President - Tax
Larry Kurland joined Ingersoll Rand in June 2006, as vice president - tax, and became an officer of the company. Larry has the responsibility for all aspects of tax and the global tax organization, and serves as a key member of the corporate finance team.
Larry comes to Ingersoll Rand after 15 years with AT&T Corp. where he was vice president - taxes and tax counsel. Before joining AT&T, Larry spent 8 years practicing law, including 5 years with the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was responsible for the tax aspects of a variety of complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, financings, reorganizations, spin-offs and recapitalizations.

Michael W. Lamach Senior Vice President and President of Trane Commercial Systems
Michael W. Lamach was named President of Trane Commercial Systems in June of 2008. Previously, Mike was elected senior vice president of Ingersoll Rand and named president of Ingersoll Rand's Security and Safety Sector in February 2004.
Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Mike was group vice president and managing director for the European, Asian, South African and South American businesses of Johnson Controls' Automotive Group. Before that, he served as vice president and general manager of the Controls Group, leading the company's integrated facilities management business. During his 17-year tenure with Johnson Controls, Mike also held positions in sales management, marketing and new product development.
Mike received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Michigan State University and a master's degree in business administration from Duke University.

Patricia Nachtigal Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Patricia Nachtigal is senior vice president and general counsel of Ingersoll Rand. Before being named senior vice president in July 2000, she was vice president since 1991, and prior to being vice president, she was secretary and managing attorney for the company.
Patricia joined Ingersoll Rand in 1979 as a tax attorney and held increasingly responsible positions until her election as secretary of the company in 1988. Before joining Ingersoll Rand, she was an attorney at Hughes Hubbard & Reed in New York.
Patricia received a bachelor of arts degree from Montclair State University in 1968. She also earned a juris doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law - Newark in 1976 and a master of laws degree in taxation from New York University School of Law in 1982.
Patricia holds membership in the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is co-chair of the New Jersey General Counsels Group. Also, Patricia serves on the United States Trade Representative’s Trade Advisory Committee on Africa and is a member of the board of trustees of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater North Jersey Chapter.

David R. Pannier Senior Vice President and President of Trane Residential Systems
David (Dave) R. Pannier was elected Senior Vice President of Ingersoll Rand and currently serves as President of Trane Residential Systems.
Pannier joined Trane 32 years ago, and has worked in the applied products and unitary products groups, as well as the after-market business. He has held several senior management positions within the Unitary Products Group including vice president, commercial marketing; vice president, marketing and product management; and vice president, residential marketing. Prior to his most recent appointment, he served for four years as vice president and business leader of the North American Unitary Products Group.
Pannier is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is actively involved with several industry organizations. He has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and as vice chairman of the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) board of directors. He recently completed a term as chairman of ARI and is now an advisory member of ARI's Executive Committee.
More recently he was elected to the Board of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA) which has recently merged with ARI to form the Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

Richard W. Randall Vice President, Finance
Richard Randall joined Ingersoll Rand in 1999 as vice president and controller for the Bearings and Components group in Torrington, CT. Shortly thereafter, he was named vice president and sector controller for the Industrial Solutions Sector.
Rich was named vice president, finance, in August 2008. Before that, he was corporate controller. Rich also previously served as president of Ingersoll Rand's Engineered Solutions Industrial Group within the firm's Industrial Solutions Sector.
Rich had prior experience with Invensys plc where he was vice president of finance for Siebe Automotive. He also held increasingly responsible financial positions with Johnson Controls and Mobil Oil.
Rich attended Western Illinois University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration as well as a master's degree in finance.

Barbara A. Santoro Vice President - Corporate Governance and Secretary
Barbara Santoro was elected vice president - corporate governance and secretary of Ingersoll Rand in December 2004. Before being named vice president, she was deputy general counsel - transactions and assistant secretary, and prior to being deputy general counsel, she was assistant general counsel for the company.
Barbara joined Ingersoll Rand in 1996. Before joining Ingersoll Rand, she served as associate general counsel at Degussa Corporation and was an attorney at the law firms of White & Case and Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O'Donnell and Weyher in New York.
Barbara received a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University in 1979. She also earned a juris doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1984.
Barbara holds membership in the American Bar Association, the American Counsel Association and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries.

Edward Schlesinger Vice President Audit Services
Edward Schlesinger was elected vice president, audit services, in June 2008. Previously, Ed served as vice president and general auditor of Trane (formerly American Standard Companies, Inc.). Ed joined Trane in 1994 as senior accounting analyst and then served as manager of financial reporting. He was named assistant controller in 2000 and assumed his current position in 2006.
Ed leads Ingersoll Rand’s global audit services team and provides financial and IT audit services across the company. He has overall responsibility for establishing and shaping policies and controls to maintain reporting accuracy.
Prior to Trane/American Standard, Ed worked with Sea Land Service as a senior financial analyst and before that at General Instrument. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from Montclair State University and an MBA from St. John's University.

Patrick Shannon Vice President Finance and Information Technology, Trane Commercial Systems
Patrick Shannon is vice president finance and information technology for Trane Commercial Systems. Patrick joined Ingersoll Rand in 2002 as vice president of finance for the Infrastructure Sector, and then later assumed the role in the Construction Technologies Sector. Since then, he's increased his responsibilities with the position of executive director, strategy and business development, and was elected a company officer in 2007.
Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Patrick was senior vice president and chief financial officer for OneCoast Network Holdings and, before that, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer for AGCO Corporation. He started his career with Arthur Andersen LLP. Patrick earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Mercer University. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.

Steven R. Shawley Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Steven R. Shawley was named Chief Financial Officer following the acquisition of Trane in June 2008. Previously, Steve was named Senior Vice President and President of the Climate Control Technologies Sector in August 2005. Steve joined Ingersoll Rand in 1997 through the acquisition of Thermo King, a business of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he was vice president and controller. He became corporate controller of Ingersoll Rand in May 1998 and became a vice president of Ingersoll Rand in June 1999. In August of 2002, Steve was named President of Thermo King North America. A year later, he became President, Climate Control Americas.
As vice president and controller of Thermo King, Steve had responsibility for all finance, information technology and treasury activities. Prior to Thermo King, he held numerous other key financial positions with Westinghouse in a career that spaced over 20 years. He served as controller of several major divisions and plants with broad financial and commercial responsibilities for operations throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as North America.
Steve received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jeff Song President Ingersoll Rand China
Jeff Song joined Ingersoll Rand in August 2004 as president, Ingersoll Rand China.
He joined Ingersoll Rand from Honeywell International, where he was the managing director and general manager for Honeywell China Co. Ltd. He joined Honeywell in 1988 and held a variety of positions in both China and the United States, including sales and marketing director for AlliedSignal Aerospace, general manager of Honeywell CATIC Engine Co. Ltd. and general manager of Honeywell CRIAA Aero Accessories Company. Jeff spent the early part of his career in engineering at Shuicheng Steel Company.
He holds an undergraduate degree in materials engineering and two masters degrees from universities in China and Canada, as well as a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.

John Soriano Vice President and Deputy General Counsel
John Soriano was elected vice president - compliance and deputy general counsel in June 2007. In this role as Ingersoll Rand's chief compliance officer, he is responsible for the company's ethics and compliance program. Previously, he was deputy general counsel, litigation, having been promoted to that role in 2004 after four years as assistant general counsel, litigation. Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand in 2000, Soriano was a corporate attorney with Becton Dickinson and, before that, Johnson & Johnson. He began his career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Didier Teirlinck Senior Vice President and President of Climate Control Technologies Sector
Didier Teirlinck was elected senior vice president and named president of the Climate Control Technologies sector in June of 2008. Prior to his new role, Didier was president of Climate Control – Europe, a position held since joining Ingersoll Rand 2005.
Before joining Ingersoll Rand, Didier was the president of the Compact Business Line worldwide for Volvo Construction Equipment beginning in 2000. Previously, Didier was General Manager of DANISCO Flexible Group for Southern Europe.
Didier received a Diploma of “Ingénieur Civil des Mines” from Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France. He also received a Diploma of “Docteur-Ingénieur” in Physics & Chemistry of Materials from University of Nancy 1, and a McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Ph.D. of Metallurgy & Materials Science.

Richard J. Weller Vice President and Corporate Controller
Richard J. Weller was elected Vice President and corporate controller of Ingersoll Rand in September 2008. Prior to his current role, Rick served as Vice President Integration, responsible for the finance integration of Trane. Rick joined IR in May 2005 as Vice President Finance for the Security Technologies sector, and held that position until June 2008.
Prior to joining IR, Rick spent 17 years with Textron where he held a number of finance leadership positions including Vice President Finance Shared Services and CFO of the Industrial Products segment, and the Fastening Systems business.
Before joining Textron, Rick held increasingly responsible finance management positions with Litton Industries and Aviall, Inc.
Rick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from LeMoyne College, and has completed Executive Development programs at both Harvard and Wharton Schools of Business.
